2015 TJ Semifinalists ONLY

Do you know how to document your teacher recommendation so you'll stand out? Do you know how to choose your extra curricular activities and accomplishments and align them with the TJ mission and beliefs? Learn how to write a powerful Student Information Sheet (SIS) and a personal statement. This is a guidance, NOT HELP. We will ask students questions to help them REFLECT on their achievements and activities. There is a fine line that distinguishes help from the guidance that we provide. Please know that the STUDENT is responsible for writing his/her own SIS, as stated in the TJ Semifinalist Nuts and Bolts. The TJ admissions committee is looking for specific details that only students can provide. Semifinalists will learn here the distinction between a poor and a well-developed essay. Fill out the registration form to enroll.
Fee: $220 for new students -3 hours/ session
$190 for returning students - 3 hours/session
Winter 2012 Schedule - Beginning Jan 28, 2012
We suggest to take advantage of all the sessions. As per our experience, TJ semifinalists need at least 3 sessions, as SIS is 20% of the final round.
Saturdays @ 9:00-12:00 and Sundays @ 2:00-5:00

*Please bring the following:
1. a laptop with a wireless internet access
2. all the documents that you got from the TJHSST Admissions Office
3. list of extra curricular activities from 6th to 8th grade
4. pens, pencils, notebook, light snacks
